Meat Loaf - “I’d Do Anything for Love”
Couldn’t sleep Friday night, so I downloaded The Vow. I genuinely liked it; so much so, that I watched it twice (in a row). Anyway, this song starts up in the first few minutes and it took me back to when I was twelve and knew the whole tape by heart. Question, why was I singing “Will you hose me down with holy water, if I get too hot?” at age 12?
Summer landscapes
Perfect start to the summer. Parks, shopping, drinks… I love where I live <3
By the way, how awesome is the print on the dress above? I got it this weekend for $20! 2-0-DOLLARS! I know. I want everything made out of that print; a throw for my bed, an area rug, an apron, the lining of a cool bag…
p.s. Does anyone want to see the Radiolab tour In the Dark at BAM next month? I’m obsessed.
p.p.s. I’m really not a crazy stalker fan, but Tess Lynch’s recent thoughts on the show Girls pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about it. Take a look here.
Tess Lynch - Wipe Your Feet
Can’t get enough of her blog, so funny/smart/entertaining. A clip from her latest entry:
Your Dreams are So Boring, Put Them on Your Blog
- I give birth to twins and can’t tell them apart. I keep leaving the same one at the supermarket by the avocados and don’t know if I’m doing it on purpose or by mistake. On the way home, I realize I’ve forgotten the less-favored twin, but care more that I didn’t pick up sumo mandarins. Crash into a shopping cart and leave a note on the shopping cart with my insurance information.
- I’m at a bar and accidentally drink a shot of liquid heroin and then can’t get a cab because I can’t lift my arms to hail one. I lie down on the sidewalk and people toss $20 bills at me, but I can’t make my fingers collect them to put them into my wallet.

Beautiful hand dyed Persian rugs - I’m doing this!
Springtime obsessions…
New site that has me refreshing-my-page-every-hour would have to be this blog put out by Elle Decor Norway. How amazing are the pics from their upcoming April issue?? Google translate has become my new best friend. Note to self: learn Norwegian.
New goal: do this at least 3 times a week - starting tomorrow (must first mentally prepare).
And finally, some pretty new things…
1 REAL dance shoes, like, the pros really wear these!
2 The exact opposite of my usual skinnies.
3 Classic/classique French summer wear. xx
Two Ways To Think About Nothing
“…We are surrounded by Nothing. Everywhere we go, we have no idea what we’re not seeing. We don’t know what gravitational fields look like, what dark matter looks like, what quantum foam looks like, what de Kooning’s drawing looked like, but what scientists and artists are telling us, in their very different ways, is that if we lean in, and pay very close attention, sometimes what looks like Nothing is the best place to find the most interesting…somethings.”
Lovely little feature by NPR’s Robert Krulwich, read the whole piece here.
Beautiful, beautiful portraits.

Bardot. Gainsbourg. Repetto. love love love.

Beginners.
Amazing - this movie killed me, prepare yourself to fall in love with it.
I’ve been absent on here for a while. 2012 has been strange, I feel so happy with life lately, or I guess the word would be content. I’m holding a pen in my left hand as I type this that I took from brunch earlier today. Red and white. With the name and number of the restaurant on it - so simple, but I haven’t been able to let go of it since coming home…
